Preserving the Past for the Future
Trusting the remodel of a historical home to a construction team is a leap of faith most are not willing to take.
However trusting BP2 to preserve the historical nature of their ranch at Lizard Head during a complete restoration was not an issue for this client, having worked with BP2 on several other remodels. The client, with their extensive design background, was very excited to collaborate with Jason once again on this very special project.
Working with historical buildings requires care and dealing with this 100+ year old structure, one of the original ranches of Sedona, came with quite a few challenges. However BP2 knew exactly how to handle the issues associated with age and its affect on HVAC, electrical and plumbing to name a few.
Approaching the restoration with care, BP2 discovered original rock walls under layers of stucco. The rock wall became a focal point as Jason decided to frame it to create a very unique art feature, highlighting the history of the home. Wherever possible original components were preserved and incorporated into the restoration.
The partnership continues two years later as the client, impressed with the restoration of the main house, has BP2 renovating the guest house and barn as well. For Jason, his crew and the client, this project truly is a dream come true. The relationship originally founded in trust has evolved into one of creative collaboration and mutual respect.
